Star-Ledger website
Accessing the Star-Ledger website is tricky because the same parent site, nj.com, feeds into all the newspapers that are owned by the publisher. So, you can find other newspapers here, which is a good thing, but if what you are seeking is the Star-Ledger, note the link. It's http://www.nj.com/starledger/
-
The Home News Tribune website
The Home News Tribune might be covering the same story as you, so it's a good idea to read the HNT to get the background of stories. Also, the HNT carries lists some days of which government agencies (municipal councils, boards of education, etc.) are meeting along with where and when. So read the HNT to get an idea of where you might go. A key benefit of the HNT is the ability to see which municipalities have controversies. This will help you cover meetings where there is a lot of action to write about.
